Local Bodies elections to be held soon: Governor |

KARACHI : Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has said that all matters in regard to local bodies elections have been settled between MQM and PPP and it has been decided that development process will continue in Sindh.
He said Local Bodies elections in Sindh will be held soon while progress and stability is the vision of President of Pakistan and Quaid MQM Altaf Hussain.
He was speaking as chief guest at the launching of a book and a documentary film on the 4 year performance of Hyderabad District Government and later talking to journalists.
The ceremony was also addressed by District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Jam Madad Ali, Law Minister Ayaz Soomro, City Nazim Mustafa Kamal, Provincial Ministers Raza Haroon and Dr Saghir Ahmed and President HCCI Abdul Aziz Arain.
The ceremony was attended, among others, by Haq Parast Provincial and Federal Ministers and people belonging to various walks of life besides MNAs and MPAs.
Governor Sindh paid tributes to District Nazim Hyderabad and his entire team for their service to Hyderabad City and said that a visible change can be seen in Hyderabad.
He said a city which had been sinking four years back was brought up on the soil and made a developed city.
He pointed out that in Sindh there are two major political parties - PPP and MQM and ANP besides other parties in the opposition, are committed to the development of Sindh which is a good omen for the province and hopefully this journey of development will continue.
Dr Ishrat said that vision of President Asif Ali Zardari and Quaid MQM Altaf Hussain too is to bring stability in the country and it is a forceful thinking that conspiracies are being foiled.
The Government is taking steps to make benefits reach the people and all of us are working together to solve problems of people.
He said the objective of holding this ceremony in Karachi was to let people of Karachi know about development of Hyderabad and it is our wish that all the districts of Sindh are developed and poverty is alleviated. He said the announcement of NFC award recently will be highly beneficial for Sindh.
